Funny Bunny, Yummy Bunny, Easter Bunnies

 February Scrap Our Stash Challenge

The February challenge over at Scrap Our Stash is to remix the layout above by Anj and include word paper.  For the word paper, I used word paper from Vicki Boutin on the background.

I always find it difficult to scrap Easter photos.  This one was no exception.  I used bits and pieces of Echo Park that I had in my stash.  I find that I don't really like the traditional Easter collections that are out there.  My scrapping style has changed over the year but I feel like I should use up what I have.  I replaced the open circles with open eggs that I cut with my Cricut.

I used some dies to cut the flowers and leaves.  The alphas are a mix of Bella Blvd and Bo Bunny.  The journaling card is Heidi Swapp.  I used a mix of Nuvo drops to accent around the page.

But First Tea

Stick It Down Single Page Team for February

Here is the fun sketch for Feb. from Stick It Down:

I made this background a while back when I was in a mixed media background making mode.  I used Vicki Boutin watercolor markers on this one.  I didn't like how the orange came out so bright so I set aside, hoping that it would get used one day.  I'm still not in love with the bright orange but the orange and green matched my photos that I wanted to scrap.

Here is a closer look at the mixed media:

I used the bottom of a bottle to stamp the circles with watercolor.

The photos are from when my daughter and I went on a hunt for Boba tea.  We tried it and really liked it!  I went through my stash to find papers that would match.  I used some Bella Blvd (black dotted) and Ella & Viv (green grass).  To tone down the orange a bit, I put vellum bubbles behind the title and around the page.  I cut the title with my cricut.  I found the title in design space.  I finished it off with some Vicki Boutin puffy stickers from my stash.

Drawing Inspiration from Scraps

I started with this picture of my daughter.  I knew I wanted to go with a Valentine collection to match with the red/pink in the photo.  I found that some scraps I had from Simple Stories Kissing Booth collection matched well.  The problem was I only had one full sheet and one gingham strip left.  I also had a few die cut pieces and that was it.  So where do I go from there?

I looked at the backside of the full sheet for inspiration.  The journaling cards gave me lots of ideas.  First, I liked the wood grain that was featured.  I had a Simple Stories wood grain paper in my stash that would match perfectly.  I also drew off of what colors/patterns that were matched with the wood grain card.  I noticed the black striped cupcake.  I had black diagonal striped paper in my stash as well (Pretty Little Studio).   The other papers were pulled from my color sorted stash of cardstocks.  It really helps to know what you have on hand or just dig through your stash.

This was my submission for the Becky Fleck sketch challenge over at A Cherry On Top.  Here is the sketch:

You Are Endless Adventure

January Mid Month Challenge at Scrap Our Stash

It's time for the mid month challenge over at Scrap Our Stash.  The challenge is to use the sketch pictured above along with journaling strips.

I gave the sketch a flip to the side to suit my photo.  This is my son's 2019 spring school picture.  They didn't take 2020 spring pictures due to the pandemic so it makes me cherish this one a little bit more.

I used mostly Simple Stories Vintage Great Escape because of the natural elements and feel of this collection.  The photo looks like he is outside in nature.

I stenciled the circles with some Rustic Wilderness distress oxide.  For the stenciled arrows, I mixed distress oxide with Vicki Boutin molding paste and applied that with a palette knife through the stencil.

I added some twine for dimension and stamped "You are" on the title card.

Thanks for looking and I hope you come play along with us at http://scrapourstash.blogspot.com/

Happy Halloween

 Sketch n Scrap #216

Here is my take on sketch number 216 from

http://sketchnscrap.blogspot.com/

My husband wore this hilarious bobble head for Halloween.  I found it on Amazon and had to have it.

I used mostly Bella Blvd on this one.  The background was misted with Prima Color Bloom spray in Gilded (looks orange) through a 12x12 TCW stencil named Tile Mania.

The star stamps are from Studio Calico and I used inks by Ranger in black and watering can.

Thanks for looking!

Happiest Season

January Double Page Sketch at Stick It Down

Here's my take on the double page sketch over at Stickitdown.blogspot.com

These pictures are from Christmas 2018.  It's a random mix of Logan's school Christmas party, Blue by the tree, the kids at candlelight Christmas service and a photo of what the elf did to their picture.

I used mostly Pretty Little Studio.  I used some cut file trees from Jen Schow that I downloaded awhile back.  The snowflake paper is from Photoplay.

Hope you'll come play along over at Stick it Down!
