April Sketches at Stick it Down

 April Double Page Sketch

Here is my take on the double page sketch over at Stickitdown.blogspot.com for the month of April!

I used Kaisercraft Explorer for my pictures from our trip to Nashville.  The die cut pack even had a little Parthenon in it!  I love the light neutrals in this collection and I really hope to find more to purchase since it's an older collection.  Here are some close ups:

And now for the single page sketch....

I made the background with a 12x12 stencil from Stencil Revolution.  I used distress oxide inks in Seedless Preserves and Wild Honey.  The papers are just some I grabbed that I thought matched.  I believe the orange background one is Vicki Boutin.  I die cut the flowers from a kraft paper and a gel print paper I had in my stash.  Thanks for looking and I hope you play along over at Stickitdown.blogspot.com!

March Sketch Challenges at Stick It Down

Up first is the single page sketch for March at Stickitdown.blogspot.com

I decided to do some stash bashing.  I hadn't dug into my Altenew hoard in  quite a while so I started there.  I used Altenew papers, chipboard, title, etc.

Here's a closer look:

I distressed some edges and inked some edges with Faded Jeans Distress Ink.  I used tag dies from my stash to cut the tags.  Thanks for looking and be sure to play along at Stick it Down!

March Double Page Sketch

This one shows 4 photos but the sketch an always be adjusted to your needs.

My take on it:

I used Simple Stories Birthday Blast 12x12 papers.  I like how the bright colors compliment my photos.  I used a Honey Bee 6x6 paper pad for the balloons.  This is the die I used to make the shaker balloon:
Sizzix - Thinlits Dies - Balloon

February 2022 Double Page Sketch at Stick It Down

Double Page Sketch Challenge at Stickitdown.blogspot.com

I really like the variety and sizes of photos included on this sketch.  I decided to scrap some beach vacation photos from 2021.  I used some cut files from Cut to You (title and shells) and used Cocoa Vanilla's Sunkissed collection.  I did apply some distress oxide behind my clusters and large title to give it some dimension and interest.
Be sure to play along over at Stick it down!  Can't wait to see what you create!

December Sketches for Stick It Down

 Ice, Ice Baby

Time for the last sketches of 2021 over at Stickitdown.blogspot.com

For this one, I used a large snowflake mask and applied some distress oxide around it.  I then traced the snowflake mask to add some interest for the background.

We had a hard freeze with some frozen precip here in Louisiana earlier in the year.  We actually has snowflakes but not enough to make snowmen with.  This page is just about my youngest exploring the ice and my poor dog, who was so cold.

 Thanks for looking!

Be sure to check out the double page challenge as well:

For this one, I stuck with the holiday theme.  My photos from last Christmas are not the best but the memories still need to be documented!

I used Vicki Boutin's Warm Wishes on this layout.  I die cut some branches out of a glitter paper to add interest and dimension.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Up next, double page sketch for this month..

I did a double page spread using PaperHouse studios papers.  Hubs and I made it to an super hot LSU game this year.  I need to add some journaling to finish this one off.
Here are some close ups:

On this one, I used my Cricut to cut the title out of a gold gel plate print I had on hand.

I added some Vicki Boutin splat stamps in white and gold to continue the splat theme from the paper on the right.

Thanks for looking!

Tell Your Story-October Single Page Sketch at SID

Time for the single page sketch for October over at Stick it Down!

I'll be honest, hexagons are not my favorite.  I really struggled with this one and even thought of using different shapes.

Here's a closer look:

I have mostly scraps from Vicki Boutin's Wildflower and Honey collection.  I decided to stick with that collection since there were some hexagon shapes featured on some papers, stickers and stamps.  I used my cricut to cut the hexagon background.  The woodgrain paper is Simple Stories.  I die cut the flowers from a gel print I made with gold paste.  Thanks for looking and be sure to play along this month at Stickitdown.blogspot.com
